Day 10 - Signs and Wonders

Day 10 – Signs and Wonders

JOHN 4:46-50

Once more He visited Cana in Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to Him and begged Him to come and heal his son, who was close to death.

“Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”

The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus replied, “You may go. Your son will live.”

The man took Jesus at His word and departed (John 4:46-50).

A sign or a wonder is a miracle. God knows that we need to see a representation of His wonder-working power. Jesus knew that He was called to demonstrate Heaven’s power here on earth. And He did so willingly.Thank you, Lord!

Reflection

  1. How does God build our faith?
  2. What does God know about our character?
  3. How do you feel when your faith is tested?

2 KINGS 6:5-7

As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. “Oh, my lord,” he cried out, “it was borrowed!”

The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. “Lift it out,” he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it (2 Kings 6:5-7).

Here we see a prophet of God called into action. An impossible situation was resolved by a simple act of faith. Imagine the stir this miracle must have created. Think about the miracles in your life.

Reflection

  1. How do you react when you see something miraculous?
  2. How can an axe head float?
  3. Why was the man of God called upon for help?
